Insertion Speed Affects the Initial Stability of Dental Implants

چکیده
Abstract Purpose This study investigated the effects of insertion speed dental implants on their stability. Methods Dental were inserted at speeds 4, 10, 20, and 30 rpm, respectively, into artificial bones two different bone qualities; namely, good (GB) poor (PB). Therefore, four qualities totaled eight groups, with five specimens per group. During process, maximum torque value (ITV) was measured, along stability parameters: periotest (PTV) initial quotient (ISQ). Results in GB group exhibited better than those PB (p < 0.001). Significant differences ITVs observed among both groups = 0.004 p 0.034, respectively). In general, higher speed, lower ITV; particular, for 4 rpm measured 20 0.008). However, regardless quality, PTVs did not differ significantly 0.066). ISQs differed 0.016 0.004, Conclusion The parameters all a resulted ITV value. PTV significantly, while ISQ speeds.

Evaluation of the correlation between insertion torque and primary stability of dental implants using a block bone test
PURPOSE Implant stability at the time of surgery is crucial for the long-term success of dental implants. Primary stability is considered of paramount importance to achieve osseointegration. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the correlation between the insertion torque and primary stability of dental implants using artificial bone blocks with different bone densities and compo...
متن کاملAnalysis of Primary Stability of Dental Implants Inserted in Different Substrates Using the Pullout Test and Insertion Torque
The aim of the study was to evaluate mechanical behavior of implants inserted in three substrates, by measuring the pullout strength and the relative stiffness. 32 implants (Master Porous-Conexao, cylindrical, external hexagon, and surface treatment) were divided into 4 groups (n = 8): pig rib bone, polyurethane Synbone, polyurethane Nacional 40 PCF, and pinus wood. Implants were installed with...
متن کاملMaintenance of Dental Implants: A Review
Objective: Successful bonding of a dental implant to bone, which was referred to as osseointegration by Branemark has been well documented. However, long-term prognosis of an implant depends on adequate maintenance and long-term care. An effective maintenance program is required to preserve the health of peri-implant tissues. Several techniques have been suggested for this purpose but it is n...
متن کاملPredictors of initial stability of orthodontic miniscrew implants.
The purpose of this retrospective study was to elucidate potential confounding factors affecting initial stability of miniscrews inserted to enhance orthodontic anchorage. Four hundred and seven miniscrews inserted in 168 patients treated by 17 orthodontic residents were analysed in a consecutive chart review. The outcome variable was the stability of the miniscrew, measured as a dichotomous va...
متن کاملRe-stability of dental implants following treatment of peri-implantitis.
It is hypothesized that active treatment of peri-implantitis (PI) leads to re-stabilization of dental implants. The aim was to assess whether or not dental implants can re-stabilize following treatment of PI. To address the focused question, MEDLINE/PubMed and Google-Scholar databases were explored from 1977 up to and including August 2013. Any disagreements between the authors were resolved vi...
